Celebration of Life Services
Our team of certified, Los Angeles Funeral Celebrants are here to assist you and your family in creating a personal and deeply meaningful, memorial, or celebration of life service for your loved one.

Celebration of life services may be held in the home, religious venue, at graveside or on board our sea vessel for full-body sea burials or ashes-scattering services. A ceremony may be a small family gathering around the casket, or a larger affair in a public venue, whatever the need, we are here to support you.
A virtual or in-home consultation pre or post death gives families the opportunity to share detailed information about the loved-one in a familiar setting.

HOW TO HAVE A FUNERAL OR MEMORIAL SERVICE AT HOME

If your loved-one dies at home on hospice, you may wish to keep their body at home for a 1 to 3-day vigil before burial or cremation. The home vigil usually culminates with a home funeral service right there in the home. Loved-ones share memories and say a final goodbye before closing the casket.
A Sacred Crossings celebrant will assist you in creating rituals for the vigil, plan the funeral service and officiate the ceremony. Please view our Home Funerals page for more details.
If you wish to hold a memorial service at home, our celebrant will work with you to create a personalized altar around the urn, write the eulogy, prepare the sacred space, design personalized tributes and a service that illustrates the loved-one’s unique contribution to the world.
We work with highly reputable musicians (harp, violin, cello), singers, videographers, photographers, printers, caterers, and florists. When you hire a Sacred Crossings celebrant, you can be assured that we will maintain the sacred whilst creating an uplifting, personalized and unique service for your loved-one.

WHY FUNERALS, CELEBRATIONS, & MEMORIAL SERVICES ARE IMPORTANT
It is critically important to have a service after the death of a loved-one. Whether this is a funeral – with the body present, or a memorial – sometime after the burial or cremation.

In ancient times the funeral was the ritual used to create a bridge from this life to the next and to ensure that the deceased found their way safely over. It is a ritual made up of many other smaller rituals, each one offering the bereaved an opportunity to open and express their grief and extend their gratitude. The deceased receives these offerings of love and is uplifted on their way.
